PoppyHarp Competitive Online ​Harp Festival
Saturday 26th February 2022

Each year we run a friendly harp festival designed to be a great way to gain experience of performing and competitive playing, eat cake and make awesome friends! Last year due to Covid-19 we put our festival online and were thrilled with the amazing music sent in.

We have opportunities to compete for all ages and abilities. (Please see the categories below.) 
You must enter your video before the deadline of 31st January 2022. This video will then be released on Youtube at the time scheduled below. It will then be judged by our adjudicator at the end of each video - Adjudicator TBC.
The results of the competition will be released at the end of all the videos being published.

​You will receive a competition participation sheet through the post/email (were working out the finer details) as well as some awesome prize for each category - sponsored by PoppyHarp and Jack Hayward Insurance!
Submissions are £3 each and you can submit as many videos to as many categories as you like. 

Classes

Fledgling Harpists
(pieces up to grade 1 and grade 1 inclusive. These do not have to be on an exam syllabus just at the standard.)
PRIZE: TBC

Budding Harpists
(Pieces at a Grade 2-3 standard. These do not have to be on an exam syllabus just at the standard.)
PRIZE: TBC

Flourishing harpists
(Pieces at a Grade 4-5 standard. These do not have to be on an exam syllabus just at the standard.)
PRIZE: TBC

Advanced Student
(Pieces at a Grade 6-8 standard. These do not have to be on an exam syllabus just at the standard.)
PRIZE: TBC

The Professionals
(Any piece of any style. This class is completely musically open and you must be a professional harpist, grade 8+ or studying at conservatoire/university.)
PRIZE: TBC

Studies and Technical
(any study on ABRSM list C or piece by Bochsa, Damase, Dizi or Pozzoli.) 
PRIZE: TBC

Folky Bliss
(any folk piece all standards)
PRIZE: TBC

How to enter the festival.

1. Choose a catagory
2. Record a video

- each video should be recorded horizontally (see right)
- each video should have at least head and hands in the video. Ideally the entire harp where possible
- ensure the background where possible is plain.
- announce your piece and name before you start as you would playing a performance. 
- (helpful hint! make sure to damp at the end! :) )

3. Complete the submission form on this page or email info@poppyharp.com with your name, the category you would like to enter and you can WeTransfer the video to us https://wetransfer.com or WhatsApp it to 07713907808. 
4. Pay the £3 submission fee per video. 
​5. You will receive a confirmation within a few days of your submission to confirm we have received it ok!
6. Good luck!!!!

    I understand and give PoppyHarp permission by clicking submit: 
    1. I must pay a £3 submission fee to complete each of my submissions. 
    2. That my video will be uploaded to youtube and displayed on the PoppyHarp, Harp Competition website page.

    Only first names will be used for the competition for anyone under the age of 16. No personal information will be used other than for PoppyHarp to contact the competitors where necessary.
